Is My Property Being Reviewed for a Decline in Value?

The continued decline in residential property values throughout Riverside County has resulted in many reduced assessments. The Assessor will be reviewing over 350,000 properties purchased between January 1, 2001, and January 1, 2009. The review applies to the assessed value as of January 1, 2009, for Fiscal Year 2009-10 that will be billed December 10, 2009, and April 10, 2010. The results of this review will be mailed during the month of July 2009 to the property owners whom have purchased their residential properties between January 1, 2001, and January 1, 2009. If your property does not meet the criteria above for review and you believe the value should be lowered, we encourage you to file a Decline-in-Value Reassessment Application (Prop. 8)). The filing deadline for a Decline-in Value Application for FY 2009-10 is September 1, 2009. Our staff will review your request and provide written notification regarding their findings.
